BUILDING MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS
Building Maintenance Inspections are an important part of keeping your building free from potential harm. Inspections are carried out from ground level by our trained staff and are digitally documented along with a report of our findings and recommendations for your review.
Most maintenance issues can be detected and dealt long before it causes a problem. We recommend that buildings are inspected every 6-12 months.
A typical inspection comprises of but is not limited to;
- Exterior Walls
Inspect for any signs of wear / cracking to render and paintwork. - Windows and Doors
Check all window locks are fully functioning and all doors and fire doors are free from signs of wear and are well oiled. - Gates
Check that gates latch securely and that hinges aren’t sticking. All posts must be sound and any mechanical features are unworn. - Exterior woodwork
Check fences/gates/ boundary barriers for signs of rot or damage. - Paths and Car Parks
Check for build-up of moss/weeds and any damage or wear to the substrate. - Ground level perimeter
Check for signs of build-up bridging the damp proof coarse or blocking air-bricks. - Air-bricks
Ensure that they are clear. - Aerials / Masts
Check that they appear solid and well attached. - Guttering, Fascia, overflow pipes
Ensure that all guttering is clear and overflows are not dripping. - Roof
Check for any visible missing tiles/slate. Inspect flat roofs for signs of felt damage/water pooling. - Metal Flashing
Check for signs of lifting or damage. - Drains
Check all drain covers and inspection points are present and undamaged. - Kitchens / Washrooms
Check pipework is sound and free from leaks.
Check all taps throughout building for signs of leak.
Check toilet/urinal sensors and replace batteries if required. - Light Fixtures
Inspect light fixtures for damaged cases / Missing bulbs.
